Round Ireland Record Ratified
The World Sailing Speed Record Council (WSSRC) has ratified Michel KLEINJANS (BEL) single-handed Round Ireland record.
In newsletter 102 the Secretary to the WSSRC, John REED announced the ratification of the following record:

Average speed: 7.2 knots (course length is 708nm)
Previously, the record was held by Irishman Michael LIDDY in a time of 5 days, 12 hours and 11 minutes.
