The ISAF International Judges Seminar hosted by the Danish Sailing Association held in Kaloevig Baadelaug YC, Skoedstrup (Aarhus) in Denmark June 8-10, 2007 gathered 19 participants from 13 countries (DEN/3, FRA/2, FIN/1, GBR/2, GER/2, GRE/1, IRL/1, ITA/1, JPN/1, LBN/1, NOR/2, PAK/1, URU/1) from 7 ISAF groups A,B, D, G, I, J, M.
This extraordinary mixture of participants from four continets gave a unique opportunity for all to appreciate the extent of worldwide sailing, and to exchange views over a wide range. Credit goes to local coordinator, Jens Villumsen, (IJ DEN) for so many different nationalities participating in the seminar. The Technical support was superb and facilites including accommodation all at hand. Excellent warm weather throughout contributed to overall good spirit and made it possible for participants to meet and socialize outside the class.
Seminar instructors were Neven Baran and Graeme Owens. The seminar was run smoothly in an interactive style with participants contributing in lively discussions and working together in smaller groups resolving protest situations. It is also due to very high standard knowledge and skill of participants that all have learned a lot. Nineteen also sat the written test on the last day of the seminar.
Our special thanks to all participants and the organisers.
