ISAF : ISAF President To Visit Ireland

ISAF President Gören PETERSSON is to visit Ireland for the official opening of the Laser 4.7 European Championship, which will be hosted by the National Yacht Club, Dun Laoghaire from 21-27 July 2007. Attendance for this youth class European championship is expected to be high and already 146 boats from 20 nations are registered to compete.

Irish youth sailors, including the ISA Laser 4.7 Team, are expected to attend this event in numbers and will be eager to measure their progress against their international peers.

'We are delighted that Gören PETERSSON will attend the opening of the Laser 4.7 Europeans,' said Harry HERMON, ISA Chief Executive.

International Events Visit Ireland

2007 will see several major international events visit Ireland during the sailing season, which will include the Laser 4.7, RS Feva and Etchells European Championships and two World Championships, for the Enterprise and Dragon.

The newly revamped National Yacht Club have a particularly busy season ahead as they also host, for the second year running, the ISA All Ireland Sailing Championship. This is Ireland’s most prestigious national sailing competition where the best of Irish sailors (Senior and Junior/Girls) are invited to compete for the title of 2007 Champion of Champions.
